In collaboration with the Moreno Institute in Stuttgart and world-renowned personalities with deep experience in using puppets as a therapeutic tool, we are creating an innovative methodology to teach this phenomenon.

My name is Dr. Sue Jennings, the lead research fellow at PUP, and I will be your guide in our global project. Our mission is to create a universal methodology for teaching puppet therapy, intended for all those interested in this effective therapeutic approach.

We work in teams that focus on individual key activities.
- The project management coordinates all project activities
- The developers of the methodology design the content of the methodology to be innovative, useful, simple, and easy to understand. They also incorporate the findings with the test group, which gives them feedback
- The test group learns and applies the content of the methodology and tests it on experimental subjects. Gives feedback to the developers of the methodology
- Platform creators modify, set up, and update the educational platform on which the individual tutorials are created
- The video and graphics creators process the requirements of the creators of the methodology for the creation of audiovisual learning content
- Puppet makers create and modify therapeutic puppets based on the impulses of the creators of the methodology

Key activity 1
Simplified scheme of methodology development
1. The developers create the methodology, incorporate the findings of the test group and suggest further directions and changes to the methodology.
2. The test group learns and tests the methodology on test cases.
3. The project management, in collaboration with the video and graphics creators, incorporates the content into the learning and communication platform.
We are testing the methodology in weekend groups. We incorporate the findings into the development of the methodology. We have already had 12 meetings and are continuing.
We have developed and continue to evolve concepts for using puppets in therapy. Through drawings, descriptions, and minute-long videos, we illustrate how puppets function in various therapeutic scenarios.
We help to understand the use of puppets in therapy from various perspectives. We shed light on the reasons for their use in both historical and contemporary contexts, so that you can grasp the psychological principles of the relationship between humans and puppets.
We have filmed educational videos teaching the use of puppets in therapy.

Key Activity 2
Guard
We have developed the concept of the “Guard” puppet as a therapeutic tool that helps overcome the initial reluctance to use puppets in therapy. It is a very simple puppet with neutral features, capable of absorbing various human personalities. It has a simple mechanism for controlling the head, ensuring that a person can easily animate it and form a bond due to the natural human tendency to anthropomorphize (humanize) inanimate objects.
ANY
The concept of the jigsaw puzzle – the therapeutic puppet ANY (any kind) offers clients the possibility to assemble the puppet and express their feelings through it, which are then communicated by the puppet. The ANY puppet is designed especially for child clients.
DONNIE
This ventriloquist puppet symbolizes transience and presents the problem of closing various life stages. We are currently pausing the development of this concept due to the high demands on the ability to control this tool.
Creating an educational platform
Key activity 3
We have created a learning platform where you can register and take one-to-one courses.
We implement the acquired know-how within the platform in a series of online and offline courses. Thanks to the platform, we can constantly update the courses and interact with students in it.
